New national child care framework will ensure kids reach full potential, NB Education Minister says

New Brunswick's Education and Early Childhood Development Minister says the Multilateral Early Learning and Child Care Framework he signed will ensure children can experience quality care that helps them reach their full potential.

Brian Kenny was in Ottawa to sign the agreement on Monday, June 12th.

The Bathurst-West-Beresford MLA says affordable, accessible child care is important to New Brunswick families and a key priority for the government.

In the coming months bilateral agreements will be signed with the provinces outlining early learning and child care needs to be addressed, along with the aloocation of funds for each jurisdiction.

Provinces and territories will receive $1.2 billion in federal dollars of the next three years for programs and governments will report on progress made in relation to the framework and agreements each year.
