New program aims to provide first responders with important patient medical information

How will first responders know your medical history or medication you're taking if you're unable to tell them?

A new program being rolled out in the Chaleur region is designed to answer those kinds of questions.

Under the Frigo Med Chaleur program, information like your medical history, medications, and family doctor are kept on a list in your refrigerator.

That way, first responders will know exactly where to find the information they need to help.

Coordinator Anne-Marie Gammon says the program is meant for everybody, young and old, who may be taking medication or with a medical condition.

Kits will soon be available at local pharmacies, libraries, golden age clubs, and the Bathurst police department.
