Obstetrics, pediatrics services at Campbellton Regional Hospital suspended

The Vitalite Health Network is suspending pediatrics and obstetrics services at the Campbellton Regional Hospital due to a lack of medical staff.

Network CEO Gilles Lanteigne says the health authority tried to find replacement doctors to provide the services but had no luck.

The temporary interruption is from June 5th to 12th.

During that time, Lanteigne says pregnant women are being directed to the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst to give birthday, along with young patients requiring specialized pediatrics care.
