Ontario man arrested after Kingsbrae Garden in St. Andrews vandalized
The RCMP says an Ontario man is facing charges after someone vandalized one of the buildings at a scenic attraction in St. Andrews, New Brunswick.
Police say they were called to the 27-acre Kingsbrae Garden on Sunday morning after someone broke into the building, reported by the CBC to be the cafe overlooking the entrance, and set a fire.
The Mounties say a 26-year-old suspect was located inside the building after the fire was extinguished and has been charged with break, enter, arson, theft, breach of probation and mischief.
They say Christopher Briand was remanded into custody after appearing in court in Saint John yesterday and is scheduled for a five-day psychiatric assessment.
