Opportunities available for new school bus drivers
The provincial government is encouraging qualified individuals to apply to become school bus drivers.
In a press release, the province says although Grade 12 or GED are identified as requirements, candidates without the qualification will be considered if they can demonstrate an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Dominic Cardy says, "the safety and security of students is our top priority, which is why we are encouraging those with a good driving record and a desire to work with children to seek opportunities, through their local school districts, as casual or full-time bus drivers."
According to the press release, good driving and experience working with children and youth may be considered as part of the experience sought when screening applications.
More information can be found through either the Anglophone or Francophone school districts.
