Overnight fire damages home in Carlingford, N.B.

Two people have been displaced by an overnight fire that extensively damaged the house they rented in the rural community of Carlingford, New Brunswick, near the Maine border.

Canadian Red Cross volunteers are assisting the woman and man with emergency lodging and meals, clothing purchases, blankets and other basics.

There were no injuries from the fire, reported around 1:30 a.m. yesterday at 83 Gamblin Road.
