Pabineau First Nation plans development on Vanier Blvd. in Bathurst
A project by the Pabineau First Nation could result in much needed parking and trail-access for snowmobilers visiting the Chaleur region.
Chief David Peter-Paul told Bathurst council on Monday that the band has plans to build a fuelling station on a parcel of land it has purchased on Vanier Boulevard in Bathurst.
It's expected to be up and running by the fall, and Peter-Paul says there's more than enough space to accommodate the vehicles and trailers of snowmobilers while they hit the region's trails.
Peter-Paul says there are also plans to develop a Mi'kmaq cultural centre on the property.
