Plans to renovate new location for Bathurst Legion underway

The Bathurst Legion is getting ready to renovate its new building so that it can fulfil the needs of its members.

First vice-president Graham Wiseman tells the Northern Light that the Legion's purchase of the Bridge Street building was finalized last week and that an architect, electrician, and plumber have begun sketching out its new layout.

The building, which once housed 'City Leather and Canvas', will have a bar, an area for bingo and suppers, as well as space for darts and shuffleboard.

Though it's not yet known how long the renovations will take, members hope it will be soon.

Wiseman says veteran's services should resume this week and that they will not be affected by renovations.
