Pointe-Verte votes to put popular outdoor recreation site up for sale
Pointe-Verte is selling one of the region's star out-door attractions in hopes it will be a better fit for somebody in the private sector.
The village's council voted earlier this month to hire a company to sell Atlas Park.
Mayor Normand Doiron says the village was spending around $30,000 a year for the park's upkeep but it wasn't making any money.
Doiron hopes whoever buys the park will continue to run it.
Chaleur Regional Tourism director Janine Daigle hopes the new owners will keep it tourism-related.
