Pokesudie man charged in weekend killing to make court appearance

A court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, September 5th for an Acadian Peninsula man charged after a fatal fight over the weekend.

Mounties say they were called to a report of two people fighting in a field off Highway 145 in Pokesudie, near Bas-Caraquet the afternoon of Saturday, September 2nd.

A 27-year-old man from Bas-Caraquet died at the scene, and a second person was taken into custody.

Police say 34-year-old Tom Lebouthiller of Pokesudie is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the incident.
