Premier Higgs names cabinet

Premier Blaine Higgs named his cabinet this morning.

Lt.-Gov Jocelyne Roy Vienneau swore in Higgs as the provinces 34th Premier and members of the cabinet at a ceremony in the Legislative Assembly Chamber.

The Conservatives were asked to govern when the Liberals were defeated in a confidence motion on the throne speech last week.

The Tories hold 22 seats in the Legislative Assembly and require the support of three People's Alliance MLAs to remain in power.

CTV's Laura Brown tweeted Premier Higgs cabinet is a mix of new and tenured MLAs.
