Pride flag hoisted at Bathurst City Hall for 'International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia'

Students from Bathurst High School, Superior Middle School, and the Bathurst Police Force and the BNPP gathered in front of Bathurst City Hall on Thursday to mark 'International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia'.

Mayor Paolo Fongemie and members of BHS's Gay-Straight Alliance addressed the crowd before raising the pride flag.

Fongemie says the flag flying in front of City Hall speaks volumes that we live in a community that respects everyone's identity and path.

The flag will be flying for one week.
