Province announces expansion of electric vehicle charging network

An investment of $1,276,000 is expanding New Brunswick's electric vehicle charging network to seven new sites.

Government says $926,000 is coming from NB Power, with $350,000 from Natural Resources Canada.

The two sides are also making an additional combined investment of $90,000 for an awareness and educational campaign through NB Power to increase the awareness of low-carbon vehicles and fuels available in New Brunswick.

The new fast chargers, and accompanying level-2 chargers, are now available in Campbellton, Caraquet, Shediac, Saint Andrews, St. Stephen, and Sussex, with installation in Fredericton this spring.

That brings the provincial eCharge network to 67 level-2 standard charging stations and 26 level-3 fast-charging stations.
