Province decides to keep five-day moose hunt for 2017
New Brunswick's Natural Resources Minister says the government will keep a five day moose hunt for 2017.
Rick Doucet says the government is still talking about moving to a season consisting of two three-day hunts and that it will seek input from hunters and conservationists on the matter in the coming year.
The decision is welcomed by the New Brunswick Wildlife Federation whose 4,000 plus members believe a longer hunt to be more fruitful.
More than 60,000 people apply for moose licenses each year.
