Province expected to announce minimum wage increase in coming days
New Brunswickers earning minimum wage could see increases tied to cost of living increases.
The province is expected to announce an $11 an hour minimum wage in the coming days and though the New Brunswick Common Front for Social Justice supports the increase, it says it's still not high enough to be tied to cost of living increases.
Meanwhile, Canadian Federation of Independent Business questions if the increase would be tied to provincial or national inflation.
Provincial president Jean-Philippe Gauthier says reducing taxes for people with low income is preferable to artificially raising the minimum wage.
