Province needs to stop blaming employees for property assessment mistakes, professor says
A political communications professor says the Gallant government needs to stop blaming employees for mistakes that resulted in more than 2,000 New Brunswickers being sent overblown property tax bills.
As more people come forward with potential tax-bill errors, St. Thomas University's Jamie Gillies tells CBC that the Liberal government needs to demonstrate how its taking political reasonability.
He says the matter is personal for New Brunswickers and that they want to hear all the facts.
Last week, the province announced an independent review on the matter and that it would be getting out of the assessment business.
