Province to introduce rules for community treatment of mental health patients
(CP) - New Brunswick's government is introducing legislation to allow for community treatment orders in the province for people with mental illnesses.
The orders allow for a set of conditions, including requirements for the regular use of medications, to be placed on patients who are being discharged from hospitals.
Eight other provinces have laws allowing the support orders.
The service will be available across New Brunswick, and the province says it is planning to add about 10 people to oversee the orders.
