Province-wide exercise gives local emergency teams practice in preparing for disasters
New Brunswick's Emergency Measures Organization is putting its new mobile command post to the test Wednesday with a province-wide disaster scenario.
EMO director Greg MacCallum 'Brunswick Alpha' is the first in what will be an annual exercise aimed at giving municipalities an opportunity to train for large-scale emergencies.
The exercise is being coordinated from the mobile command post in Bathurst.
MacCallum says the scenario will give 107 municipal-level emergency management teams practice activating their individual plans, getting the right people in operation centres, establishing communications, and plan for emergencies that may strike their community.
