Psych. assessment reveals man accused of threatening Bishop suffered from mental illness at the time
A 30 day psyciatric assessment has determined a Bathust man accused of threatening a Roman Catholic Bishop in November was suffering from a psychiatric disorder at the time.
The specialist concluded 68 year old Gregory Pitre would not be criminally responsible for his actions but still fit to stand trial.
Pitre is charged with a number of offences including uttering death threats, possessing a restricted firearm with ammunition, as well as carrying a concealed weapon.
He'll remain in custody until his next court appearance on January 8th.
There's a court ordered publication ban in place.
