Public hearing on response to brutal January ice storm go tonight in Bas Caraquet

Residents of the Acadian peninsula will be attending a public hearing tonight into the handling of January's ice storm by N-B Power.

The clerk of the Executive Council will be listening to any concerns raised at the gathering in Bas Caraquet as she gathers information for a review report for the Liberal government.

New Brunswick's power utility says this January's ice storm was the largest, most expensive restoration effort in the utility's history.

The Crown-owned agency says repair costs for the ice storm are estimated at 30 million dollars.
