Quebec MP booted from Tory shadow cabinet
Quebec MP Maxime Bernier is no longer a member of the federal Opposition's shadow cabinet.
A senior Conservative source tells The Canadian Press that party leader Andrew Scheer pulled Bernier from his role as innovation critic after learning that he'd recently posted to his personal website a chapter on supply management that is part of his forthcoming book.
The source said Bernier had told the leader and caucus that he would no longer promote his book in that way.
Scheer says science critic Matt Jeneroux will assume Bernier's duties for now.
