RCMP stop vehicle fleeing from police, two men arrested
Two Riverview men are facing charges after fleeing police from the scene of an attempted robbery and home invasion in Nova Scotia.
Police say the alleged incident in Springhill happened around 5:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Southeast District RCMP responded to a call for assistance from Nova Scotia RCMP around 6:30 p.m. yesterday to stop a vehicle traveling westbound on the Trans-Canada Highway.
Police say a spike belt was deployed on the highway near the exit for Painsec, which stopped the vehicle but the suspects fled on foot.
The New Brunswick RCMP's Police Dog Services were deployed and located the two men, aged 42 and 36, a short time later.
They were arrested and taken to hospital for minor injuries before being released into police custody.
A member of the New Brunswick RCMP was also injured while responding to the call, and was treated in hospital and later released.
The RCMP have not given details on what charges the men will face, but they are due in Moncton Provincial Court this afternoon.
