Re-connection costs top $30 million for brutal January ice-storm
NB Power says it cost $30 million to reconnect hundreds of thousands of customers who lost power during January's brutal ice storm.
The CBC reports vice-president of customer service Lynn Arsenault spoke at a public information session in Tracadie on Sunday.
Arsenault said the figure includes the cost of replacing infrastructure and supporting crews who worked for 12 days to reconnect homes and businesses.
Repairs following Post-Tropical Storm Arthur in 2014 were a record $23 million, making January's storm the most expensive in the utility's history.
