Restigouche Regional Service Commission says 'no' to moving transfer station to Dalhousie
The Restigouche Regional Service Commission has decided against a proposal that would see its waste and recycling transfer station moved to Dalhousie.
The decision comes following a review of a consultant's report at the commission's meeting on Tuesday.
The study found that setting up such a facility would cost approximately $2 million.
That's far more than the $534,000 needed to renovate the current facility in Campbellton, which needs to be operational ahead of the commission's new collection program being rolled out this fall.
