Rising water forces eight people from North Tetagouche homes
As Emergency Measures officials deal with flooding across the province, rising waters have forced several Chaleur region residents from their homes.
Regional Emergency Measures coordinator Ken McGee says fire-fighters used a boat to evacuate eight residents from Elliot Street in North Tetagouche on Saturday after receiving a 9-11 that their homes became surrounded by water.
In Middle River, meanwhile, officials are keeping a close eye on Mathilda Road.
That street's currently under water and closed to traffic.
Resident Pierre Theriault tells the Northern Light that flooding there seems to have been increasing over the past four or five years.
