Saint-Anne-de-Madawaska man charged in connection with sweeping drug investigation denied bail

A Saint-Anne-de-Madawaska man charged in relation to a sweeping drug investigation in Northern New Brunswick will remain behind bars until his next court appearance.

57-year-old Emery 'Pit' Martin  faces several charges including conspiracy to traffic cocaine, trafficking in cocaine, laundering and possessing the proceeds of crime, as well as instructing and committing an offence for a criminal organization.

A court-ordered publication ban is in place.

Since April, fifteen people have been arrested in connection with the investigation.

A date for Martin's preliminary inquiry will be set on October 22nd.
