Saint John Sea Dogs mourn death of former head equipment manager David 'DK' Kelly

Former Saint John Sea Dogs equipment manager David 'DK' Kelly has died following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Kelly was the Sea Dogs' head equipment manager for 13 years.

Sea Dogs Owner and CEO Scott McCain says nobody has shown more character and courage when faced with adversity than Kelly.

Kelly retired from his role in 2017 and was the Sea Dogs' only head equipment manager in history, having worked 805 regular season games.

He joined the Sea Dogs front office as Senior Advisor to Hockey Operations in 2018, before leaving the organization to pursue philanthropic initiatives.

Kelly was 40-years-old.
