Sea Dogs defenceman out of lineup indefinitely following Hodgkin's lymphoma diagnosis
Saint John defenseman Oliver Felixson will be out of the Sea Dogs' lineup indefinitely as he seeks treatment for Hodgkin's lymphoma.
The 18 year old Helsinki, Finland native says the news came as a complete shock and that his parents flew to Canada when he received his diagnosis.
Horizon Health Network's Dr. Elizabeth Zed, who is working with Felixson, says this type of cancer is treatable and potentially curable.
Hodgkins' lymphoma is the same type of cancer NHL superstar Mario Lemieux was diagnosed with in 1993.
Sea Dogs GM, Trevor Georgie says the club is supporting Felixson as he meets this challenge.
