Second body discovered in Campbellton

A second body has been discovered in Campbellton.

Mounties say the body is that of a local man in his 70's and that it was discovered floating in the Restigouche River near the old Campbellton wharf Thursday afternoon.

Police don't believe he was in the water long, possibly since Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, efforts are underway to identify the body of a man found on the banks of the Restigouche earlier this week.

RCMP say the body could be that of a man who went missing from the Campbellton Regional Hospital in January.

The two cases are not believed to be related and police don't suspect foul play.
