Shippagan approves study for 'tourist stop'

Shippagan wants to do a better job of welcoming tourists.

On Monday Shippagan Council approved a motion that would allow for a feasibility and viability study of a 'tourist stop' that would include an visitor information centre.

The development would be located on town land near the wharf;  an area mayor Anita Savoie-Robichaud says is already very popular for tourists due to the view of several boats docked there.

Corbo Engineering will carry out the study at a cost of approximately $43,500.
