Speaker of N.B. Legislature suspended following harassment allegations
The New Brunswick Legislature's Speaker has been suspended following allegations of harassment.
Premier Brian Gallant announced Chris Collins' suspension from the Liberal caucus on Thursday, saying allegations against the 55 year old stem from a former employee of the legislative assembly.
Gallant says an independent, third-party investigation will take place, but was tight-lipped on the exact nature of the allegations.
The Premier says it's important to ensure workplaces are safe and respectable for all people.
