Students' mental health & teachers' morale a priority for incoming NBTA president

The New Brunswick Teacher's Association's incoming president says the mental health of students in the province is a major priority.

George Daley says he wants to see more psychologists added to the province's schools and improve the morale of teachers.

The BHS teacher and vice-principal tells CBC there is a 'substantial' shortage of psychologists in this province and that there needs to be a comprehensive mental health program for students.

He says there are students whose needs far exceed what teachers, or guidance counsellors are able to offer.

Daley replaces outgoing NBTA president Guy Arseneault.
