Summer Reading Club encourages reading and promotes literacy during summer school break

School's almost out for summer, but that doesn't mean you should put down your books until September.

Registration is now open for the 2017 Summer Reading Club at New Brunswick's public libraries.

The free program, held every year since 1991, encourages reading during the summer school break and promotes literacy.

Last year, more than 11,000 club participants read more than 291,000 books, magazines or websites.

You can register at your local public library or online.
