Superior Middle School student in running for trip to Canada's History Youth Forum in Ottawa

A Grade 8 student at Superior Middle School in Bathurst has a chance to tell the rest of the country about an important piece of the region's history as part of a national contest, but needs your help to do it.

Fourteen-year-old Madison Nicol's project, "Prosperity to Apocalypse", examines the history and effect Bathurst's former pulp and paper mill has had on the region, and is among just 200 from across the country selected for Canada's History's "Young Citizens" program.

Twenty-six students in all will be selected by public vote and judge's decision to present their project at the Canada's History Youth Forum in Ottawa in the fall.

You can cast your vote for Nicol until July 7th.
