Syncrude fire a result of broken supply line
(CP) - Officials at Syncrude say a fire at its Mildred Lake upgrader in northern Alberta was the result of a broken supply line.
Company spokesman Will Gibson says crews are allowing the blaze to burn itself out because that's the safest way to dispose of residual material.
He says the rest of the operation is safe and stable.
Meanwhile, work is returning to normal at the oilsands site after the fire, which sent one man to hospital.
