Third Heat Warning issued for province; relief coming tonight
A heat warning is in place for most of the province again today as temperatures hit the mid to high thirties with the humidity.
Environment Canada says a cold front will bring cooler temperatures and a drop in humidity tonight and tomorrow.
The risks of heat-related illnesses are greater in young children, pregnant women, older adults and those with chronic illnesses or people who are working outdoors.
The province says to drink cool liquids before you feel thirsty, to take frequent breaks if working outside and to check on older relatives and neighbours.
If possible, you should make arrangements to spend time in a cooler place, like a library, mall or swimming pool.
Take cool showers or baths until you feel refreshed and where loose fitting, light coloured clothing, and make arrangements to sleep in a cooler place.
