Three people charged following seizure of over 11,000 methamphetamine pills
Two Quebec men and one New Brunswicker are facing drug-related charges following a year-long investigation by RCMP.
The charges follow a traffic stop last January near Edmundston which resulted in police seizing more than 11,000 methamphetamine tablets and cocaine.
Mounties say the pills were destined for widespread distribution in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
On Monday, 50-year-old Andre Pelletier of Montreal, 28-year-old Kevin St-Pierre of Quebec City, and 26-year-old Rocko Thibault of Saint-Quentin were charged with trafficking, and possessing methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.
Mounties seized an additional 50,000 meth pills during separate targeted vehicle stop resulting in 53-year-old Reg Robichaud facing separate charges relating to the matter.
The investigation continues and police say further arrests and charges are possible.
