Tracadie calls on Ottawa to help clean up former firing range

Tracadie is calling on the federal government for help cleaning up its former firing range.

The land was used by the department of defence between 1942 and 1994.

The calls come after the recent discovery of several shells and ammunition.

Several tourism projects are planned for the property, however mayor Denis Losier says risks to public safety are too high for any developments at the moment.
