Tracadie votes to sell its festival tent

It was a split decision, but Tracadie council voted on Monday to sell its large festival tent.

The tent had been used for summer concerts and was first put up for sale over the winter but council changed its mind following the objection of some councillors and several artists.

But mayor Denis Losier tells the Acadie-Nouvelle that it's interesting that citizens are finally interested in the tent now that it's for sale when there had been little interest in using it over the past few years.

The buyer of the tent must keep it in the Tracadie area for a period of three years as a condition of the sale.
