***UPDATED:  5 June, 2018

It's graduation season in the Chaleur region; a time Grade 12 students at Ecole Secondaire Nepisiguit and Bathurst High School wrap up their studies and turn their attention to things like prom and summer vacation.

This year, approximately 210 students are expected to graduate from ESN while BHS is expected to hand out diplomas to approximately 120 students.

ESN students will attend prom on June 21st and will receive their diplomas on June 24th.

ESN's awards night took place last Thursday.

Meanwhile, students at BHS will receive their diploma and go to prom on June 22nd followed by their annual 'Safe Grad' after-party.

BHS' graduation and awards banquet takes place on Wednesday with Turn-Around-Achievement Awards scheduled for Tuesday.

Meanwhile, New Brunswick Education Minister and Bathurst-West-Beresford MLA Brian Kenny congratulates the class of 2018 and says graduation is an exciting time that marks an important milestone in their lives.

He says it's a time to celebrate years of hard work, determination, dedication, learning, friendship, and great memories.

Kenny says his wish for this year graduating class is that they take what they've learned and use it as a guide in their next adventure, whatever it may be.
