The Bathurst RCMP say the missing 32-year-old man from St. Laurent has been found safe.

Police would like to thank the public for their assistance.


The Bathurst RCMP is asking for the public's help to locate a missing 32-year-old man from Saint-Laurent.

Donald Sawyerr, who sometimes goes by "Dave", left his residence on chemin Nicholas Denys at about 3 a.m. on Monday.

Police say he contacted his family around 6 a.m. and indicated that he had become lost in the woods.

The RCMP say his vehicle, a black 2010 Dodge Journey with Alberta licence plates, was located on a dirt road in Little River, near Bathurst, at about 5 p.m.

Sawyerr is described as 5'7" and 135 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black pants, grey sneakers and a silver watch.

The Northeast District RCMP's Police Dog Services, EMO's remotely piloted aircraft system, the Department of Energy and Resource Development, and the Acadie-Chaleur Ground Search and Rescue team are searching the area.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Donald Sawyerr is asked to contact the Bathurst RCMP.
