**Updated** Planning commission approves new care home for Bathurst

**Updated at 4:50 p.m.**

There's a new seniors care home in the works for Bathurst.

The 45 bed facility was approved by the city's planning commission earlier this week and will be located on Chaleur Street.

It will be owned and operated by Kevin Vienneau and his sister Linda Vienneau.

Kevin Vienneau owns Residence Vienneau which is just across the street from where the new facility will be built.

Approximately 35 full-time jobs will be created and will employ a registered nurse, licensed practical nurses, and several personal support workers.

Construction is expected to begin in September and the facility will take around six months to complete.
