Vitalite Health Network aims to further reduce surgery waiting list

The Vitalite Health Network says reduced wait times for orthopaedic surgeries are encouraging.

The Network's board of directors was advised that the waiting list for things like hip and knee procedures has been reduced from 658 patients to 344 over the past year.

Vitalite's president and CEO Gilles Lanteigne says much effort has been put into reviewing ways to allocate more time for surgeries but adds there's still more improvements to be made.

He says the network aims to reduce waiting list numbers even further and that it has submitted a plan to the health department with that regard.
