Vitalite Health Network: still work to be done to ensure facility food of highest nutritional value

The Vitalite Health Network says there's still work to be done to ensure food available to patients, staff, and visitors is of the highest possible nutritional value.

Several improvements to hospital menus have been made since the network first adopted its healthy food environments policy in 2015.

Director of Professional Services Linda Sunderland says the goal is to provide patients with healthy options by prioritizing foods with high nutritional value.

Over the next year, health care professionals aim to focus on the issue of sugary drinks and the measures needed to promote proper hydration of patients.
