Weeks or months may be needed to determine cause of tragic crash on Bathurst bypass, says RCMP

The RCMP says it could take weeks, or even months, to determine the cause of a tragic accident earlier this week that claimed the lives of a 31 year Petit-Rocher man and a 47 year old woman from Grande-Anse.

The crash happened Wednesday morning and shut down Highway 11 in Bathurst for several hours.

Cpl. Mark Trembley tells the Northern Light that police are still gathering statements and analyzing evidence.

Police had said slippery roads may have been a contributing factor, however the investigation is still on-going.
