Winter storm warning continues for Chaleur region

A winter storm warning continues for the Chaleur region.

Environment Canada says strong winds and blowing snow are expected to continue on Wednesday.

Between 20 and 30 centimetres of snow is expected, however the department says up to 50 centimetres could fall in some areas of the province.

Schools in the Anglophone North and Francophone North-East School Districts are closed for the day, as are Francophone Education Centres in Tracadie and Bathurst.

The City of Bathurst meanwhile, says snow removal on secondary roads has been suspended until conditions improve.

The Department of Transportation has suspended snow removal on Cape Road until conditions improve.
