WorkSafeNB halts tear-down of silos at former Smurfit Stone mill property in Bathurst
One of the remaining concrete silos on the former Smurfit-Stone mill property was left tilting to the side after WorkSafeNB shut down demolition on Friday, June 23rd.
The agency determined the site was unsafe for workers.
The owner of the company tearing down the structures says he could have rectified the situation had a bit more time been given.
Property owner Raymond Robichaud tells the Acadie-Nouvelle that citizens have been waiting for a long time to see the property cleaned up, but adds he's beginning to tire of all the red tape.
