Young driver from Pigeon Hill charged in connection with deadly collision in June
A young Pigeon Hill man has been charged in connection with a deadly accident near Bertrand last June.
The man, who was 17 at the time of the crash, was charged last week with leaving the scene of the accident that killed a 57 year old man and a 72 year old woman.
Following an investigation, RCMP say the man will not face charges of dangerous driving.
The vehicle he was driving, which belonged to his father, was later found burned in a gravel pit between Bertrand and Paquetville.
He's scheduled to appear in court on May 22nd.
His two passengers, a man from Inkerman and another from Petite-Riviere-de-l'Ile, are charged with failing to keep the driver from fleeing and will appear in court later this month.
