If you’re not aware, hiking is my main passion (right next to my awesome radio gig).

This Spring, I get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hike the largest free-standing mountain in the world – Mount Kilimanjaro.   I guess it would be the equivalent of a hockey player playing in the NHL, or a country artist playing the Grand Ole Opry.  One way or another, it will be a lot of training and hard work, but worth it.

Myself and group of fun-loving people from Ottawa and area will travel to Africa for the hike, but physical training is only half of it.

I’m raising $10,000 (or hopefully more) for SOS Children’s Villages through the Dream Mountains Foundation.  SOS Children’s Villages is an international children’s charity that provides loving homes for children who have been abandoned and orphaned where their basic needs for food, health, shelter and education are met.  All of my fundraising efforts and every dollar I raise will be going to these children across the world, and that alone is a wonderful feeling.

You can make a donation to SOS Children's Villages (and get your tax receipt of course), here is my fundraising page: http://www.dreammountains.com/ma94

My first big fundraiser is coming up in just a couple of weeks, November 13th at Generations Inn in Carleton Place!

The event will include a 5 course meal, wine tasting, and entertainment from Peter Brown and Friends. You can expect celebrity servers, and a charming silent auction throughout the dinner.

The tickets are $75 per person.

Reservations can be made by contacting Generations Inn 613-253-5253 or by booking in person 717 Lake Park Road, Carleton Place, Ontario.

Thanks so much in advance for your support of this incredible adventure!
