Alessia Cara Reveals New Song 'Growing Pains' Is Coming
Alessia Cara announced Monday that “Growing Pains,” the first single from her sophomore album, will be out June 15.
The Canadian singer, who turns 22 next month, teased the new music by sending lyrics to fans and challenging them to collaborate to put the songs together.
“You’re all very smart so I’m sure this will be a breeze,” Cara tweeted.
Sure enough, fans were able to piece the track together.
“I guess the bad can get better / Gotta be wrong before it’s right / Every happy phrase engraved in my mind,” the song goes. “And I’ve always been a go-getter / There’s truth to every word I write.”
Cara’s new album is a follow-up to her 2015 release Know-it-all, which spawned hits like “Scars to Your Beautiful.” She also collaborated with Zedd on the smash hit “Stay” and with Logic and Khalid on “1-800-273-8255.”
Earlier this year, Cara won a Grammy for Best New Artist.
